Forest Festival of the Arts: Okayama

2024
Japan

Forest Festival of the Arts, Okayama is an arts programme covering 12 cities and towns across the Okayama Prefecture in Japan, celebrating the area’s natural environment and the symbiosis between nature and humanity through a series of art installations, performances, and other events.

In Art Director Yuko Hasegawa’s words, Okayama is where the ‘light of the south meets the shade and shadow of the north’. The visual identity evokes this: illustrated ‘meshes’, inspired by the delicate fabrics of the local Hinoki studio, their bright colours and their relationship with light, are layered over photography of Okayama’s beautiful nature to represent the festival’s symbiotic relationship with the region.
