{"id":1935,"date":"2012-01-20T12:37:34","date_gmt":"2012-01-20T12:37:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/virusfonts.com\/news\/?p=1935"},"modified":"2014-06-26T14:39:38","modified_gmt":"2014-06-26T14:39:38","slug":"john-foxx-and-the-maths-the-shape-of-things","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/barnbrook.net\/john-foxx-and-the-maths-the-shape-of-things\/","title":{"rendered":"John Foxx and The Maths: The Shape of Things"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/barnbrook.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/blog_foxx_shape_front.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"550\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1942\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We are proud to announce our design of the latest John Foxx and the Maths Album: <em><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.johnfoxxandthemaths.com\/?p=950\" target=\"_blank\">The Shape of Things<\/a><\/em>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/barnbrook.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/blog_foxx_shape_back.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"550\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1941\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>The Shape of Things<\/em> is the follow up album to <em><a href=\"http:\/\/virusfonts.com\/news\/2011\/03\/john-foxx-and-the-maths\u2013interplay\/\" target=\"_blank\">Interplay<\/a><\/em> and we wanted to keep the same strong graphic style. Influenced by 1960s paperback novels and infographics from the 1970s, with a modern twist. Instead of cold statistical analysis though, the diagram on the cover presents a positive human emotion in a simple graphic way: optimism for the future. This is a statement in relation to the album which is much darker in tone than <em>Interplay<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/virusfonts.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/blog_foxx_shape_01.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"425\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1936\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The inside is based on early manuals from analogue synthesisers which were used for the making of the music. These were based directly on photographs taken in Benge&#8217;s studio where the album was created.
